8/2024SoPhi publishing (University of Jyväskylä)Cover design I designed the cover for Hegel: Henki ja luonto (Hegel: Spirit and Nature), published by SoPhi. The client suggested the central motif—a rose—drawing on Hegel’s metaphor of the rose as a symbol of reason. Beyond this, I was given complete artistic freedom. The client appreciated my earlier cover design for the Finnish translation of Yrjö Hirn’s book, which inspired me to adopt a print-like aesthetic rather than using a realistic photograph for this cover. Pikku-Virgiinia winter festival poster
10/2023Graphic design A poster for the second festival of Pikku-Virgiinia. The original overall design of the first festival was kept for the second festival poster. Mainly the color scheme was updated to indicate the new event. A QR code for the event site was added to the poster.

13th Nordic Workshop in Early Modern Philosophy conference poster
5/2023Graphical design I created this poster and program booklet for a conference I was personally involved in organizing. The typography emulates typefaces used in early modern printing. The artwork for the poster and program booklet comes from Getty’s Open Content series. The chosen piece, an early modern tapestry titled ’Triumph of Knowledge,’ aligns well with the themes of the conference.

Pikku-Virgiinia festival poster
7/2023Graphicl design A poster for the fall festival of Pikku-Virgiinia, a workspace community located in Alppila, Helsinki. Pikku-Virgiinia is a community for creative professionals, and the purpose of its festival is to showcase the work of its members. The festival takes place at the workspace itself; the poster reflects the warm spirit of the workspace and its community. The chosen style is a retro-inspired design that mimics the halftone technique popular in the 1980s.

Throughout the years I gradually refined the magazine’s design, introducing a fresh and sleek, contemporary aesthetic while preserving magazine’s core visual identity. I also have streamlined the magazine’s typography, selecting a more limited set of typefaces to create a more cohesive over all design.
